Seesaw Logo

In light of the recent incident involving the communications app Seesaw (an application used by students and families in grades Prek-2), we would like to inform you of the measures that have been taken to ensure the safety of all students and families.  We were notified by Seesaw about inappropriate imagery that was sent to parents of some students.  Currently, there are no reported cases here in New Rochelle.

Impacted families would have received communication from Seesaw informing them that they have disabled messaging temporarily for all users while they investigate, to prevent further spread of this image from being sent or seen by any Seesaw users.  The company has also removed this inappropriate link from any messages that reference it, reset the passwords of any users who had their account compromised, and have taken measures to prevent additional accounts from being compromised.

All Prek-2 families, should have also received an email from the district informing them not to open any “bit.ly” links that are sent through Seesaw.  The company stated that the accounts that were compromised were through the breach of individual user accounts as a result of weak passwords. This was not an administrative breach.  If assistance is needed in creating a stronger password, feel free to contact technology services at  tech-help@nredlearn.org or call 914-576-4300 ext. 39514.
