district mural

New artwork now greets visitors to the waiting area at the City School District of New Rochelle’s office at City Hall.

The colorful, engaging mural frames a message, “And how are the children?” That phrase, a traditional Maasi Tribe Warrior greeting, is frequently conveyed by Superintendent Jonathan Raymond as a touchstone regarding our school district’s importance, mission, and purpose.

A second panel of the artwork answers the question by saying, “They are well,” again focusing on the investment required for children to advance academically, socially, and emotionally.
