4’s Program - The JCCMW Nursery School offers UPK program to all New Rochelle residents. There are two sessions available for students. The AM session runs from 8:45-11:15 A.M. AND the PM session runs from 12:15-2:45 P.M. Full day Nursery School is an option at an extra tuition cost. Parents are responsible to drive students to and from the school as well as provide a healthy snack . Our qualified, nurturing staff have years of experience in working with preschoolers and will work to encourage your child to explore and experiment at their own pace. We follow the Get Set for School® curriculum, which is part of Learning without Tears™. Our students LOVE it!! We help our students develop age-appropriate knowledge that sets them up for success in Kindergarten. Nursery School students enjoy learning to swim in our indoor heated pool, working off energy in our fully-equipped gymnasium, and climbing in our new Nursery School playground, a dedicated, shady play space just for our preschoolers. Unique features within the curriculum are music and movement classes, swim instruction, and gymnastics classes. We believe in creating an atmosphere of acceptance and diversity. The importance of teaching our students to be kind, responsible members of society is paramount to what we do as educators. Our Universal Pre-K classrooms are integrated and co-taught by a New York State certified special education teacher and a New York State certified early childhood teacher.

The New Rochelle Day Nursery (NRDN) is a private not-for-profit day care center. The first nursery in the State of New York to be licensed (1905), NRDN is also the oldest social service agency still in existence in Westchester County. The New Rochelle Day Nursery was founded in 1895. NRDN has remained committed to providing quality day care at affordable rates that are well below those of similar programs in the region. In addition to the full tuition that many of our parents pay, government subsidies and fundraising enable us to create a learning environment for children that lays the foundation for becoming well-rounded adults. UPK program is available to all New Rochelle residents. NRDN program runs from 7:30am-6:30pm. Parents are responsible to drive students to and from the program. For those students that have entered the program with a UPK spot, 2.5 hours of each day will be deducted from the program's tuition and parents will be responsible for the remaining balance. Parents MUST commit to the full day program and MUST pay the tuition after UPK money is deducted from total. Two nutritious meals and a healthy snack are provided to all students.

Welcome to the Y. The New Rochelle YMCA is a family-oriented community service organization which welcomes all people and promotes positive values through programs that build spirit, mind, and body. We know that lasting personal and social change comes about when we all work together. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening the community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Universal pre-k is available to all New Rochelle residents through the UPK lottery. Once a UPK seat has been granted, parents may begin the registration process with the New Rochelle school district first and then with us. The program runs from September to June. We offer two sessions which are 9:00am-11:30 a.m. OR 12:30-3:00 p.m. A nutritious snack is offered to our students while they attend the program. However, parents may send in a snack from home. Parents are responsible to drive students to and from the program. After School program is an option at an additional cost.

The Pre-School Learning Center was established by Joan Godfrey in 1980 to meet the needs of children of working parents in the New Rochelle area. The school is centrally located on Eastchester Road in St. Luke’s Church. LIC NYSDCC 836920 & NYS DOT Inspected Bus. UPK is available to all New Rochelle residents through the UPK lottery. Our UPK session runs from 12:30- 3:00 p.m. with the option to make it full day 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or extended day 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for an extra charge. We also provide transportation to those children attending Barnard UPK or Magnet Programs at an additional cost. Our program offers a competitive academic curriculum consisting of math, phonics, reading, social and emotional life skills, science, gym, music and arts & crafts. Our teachers are certified with experience, who promote a caring, safe, and nurturing environment that encourages the success of every child.
The Pre-School Learning Center serves several age groups:

- After School program kindergarten through fifth grade

The Children’s Center has been providing New Rochelle with a quality nursery school program for over 40 years. We follow a curriculum that allows exploration and discovery so that the children experience hands-on learning in a warm and nurturing environment. Skills are learned through a child-centered curriculum. By empowering the children, they are able to develop a sense of independence and positive self-worth. UPK program is available to all New Rochelle residents through the lottery program. We offer two sessions which are 9-11:30 a.m. OR 12:30-3:00 p.m. Parents are responsible to drive the students to and from the center. Afterschool is not available and tours are unavailable due to pandemic.

The mission of early childhood education at Weekday Nursery School is to develop a love of learning and develop a lifelong dedication to learning from the outset of a child’s formal education. Each classroom is designed specifically to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of young children. Each classroom has a Head teacher and an assistant teacher and depending on the number of children, a classroom aide. The early childhood education program at Weekday is guided by a philosophy of progressive, developmental learning based on the model: “play is the work of young children. While utilizing The Project Approach as well as certain components of Creative Curriculum, our Junior Pre-K curriculum is designed to develop verbal skills, reading, writing, mathematics, phonics, environment and science. Children will use a multitude of multi-sensory experiences throughout the day. Subject Areas: Reading Readiness, Math, Music, Art, Science – and Group lessons and activities. UPK program is available to all New Rochelle residents through the lottery program. We offer the PM session of 12:30-3:00p.m. to our UPK students. Full day possibility, but limited spots. Should parents opt in for this option, PM tuition will be deducted and parents will be responsible for remaining balance. Late stay available until 4PM at an additional cost. Parents will be responsible to drive students to and from the program.

Starting March 2014, WestCOP began a pilot Early Childhood Development program in Port Chester called “5 Steps to Five”. The Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide comprehensive child development services for children from birth to five years, and focus on the goals of promoting social competence and school readiness for each child. Through these partnerships, parents are encouraged: to become involved in all aspects of the Head Start program; are empowered to become advocates for their children and themselves to pursue the goals they have identified. Some benefits include high quality research based curriculum, Family support, nutrition guidance, and access to community resources to name a few. Families must meet income eligibility guidelines in order to enter the program. Once that is determined, our program may be selected as a choice during the UPK lottery process. UPK students attend the program from 8:30-2:30p.m. We include two nutritious meals and a snack. Parents are responsible to drive students to and from the program.
