The School District won the grand prize for the CILA (Children’s International Language Academy) program at Trinity and Ward Elementary Schools, in the American School Board Journal’s 2006 Magna Awards program. |

New Rochelle High School ranks on Newsweek’s list of top high schools in the nation. |
|
The New York State Education Department designated two
elementary schools in New Rochelle as high performing schools based on 2003-04
standardized tests: George M. Davis Jr. and William B. Ward Elementary
Schools. |

NRHS Varsity Girls Basketball team is the school’s first to compete in the NYS Section 1 Class AA semi-finals, earning the first runner-up prize in their division. The Cheerleading team placed fifth in the nation, JV placed sixth, and the middle school team placed seventh at the Universal Cheerleading Association National HS Cheerleading Championships. A New Rochelle High School senior won two titles in state championships in track, and competed on the national level in several track events. |

New Rochelle is named one of the “Best 100 Communities for
Music Education” in the nation by the American Music Conference. A NRHS
student was a semi-finalist in the highly competitive 2005 Intel Science
Talent Search. |

NRHS Varsity Football and Basketball teams were NYS
Section AA finalists, and the Cheerleading team held second place in the
nation at the Universal Cheerleading Association National HS Cheerleading
Championships. A New Rochelle High School student set a Section 1 track
record, and is the 60-meter national champion. |

2004 |

A New Rochelle High School student was a semi-finalist in
the 2004 U.S. Physics Team search, and one of 12 national finalists for the
National Wendy’s High School Heisman Award. The NRHS Varsity Cheerleading
team placed second in the nation at the Universal Cheerleading Assoc.
